PORTFOLIO OF WORK: 2013-2019
EVENT DESIGN AND COORDINATION
A collaboration between Sarah Cooper and Stephanie Stamatis.
Since inception, Local Gatherings worked with a diverse and notable list of clients. These included Vogue, T2, Kinfolk, Jacob’s Creek, Sunday Suppers, Mimco, Hub Furniture, Furla and Virgin Australia.
Local Gatherings was an event design collaboration specialising in intimate gatherings of any size. As a team, Stephanie and Sarah combined both their shared and unique sensibilities and groundings in form and aesthetic to create a fruitful collaboration.
The vision: "to bring together our passion for family and food and the act of sharing - which we consider the most essential of all human connections”. With a focus on community, Local Gatherings aimed to combine simple elements to create events which were reminiscent of the family dinner.
Fiore by local gatherings x hub furniture
Fiore is a concept that centres around a weekly offering of bunches made up from a singular flower. It is a nod to the stationery and service of an era gone by.
This was a collaboration between Hub Furniture and Local Gatherings to activate their Melbourne CBD store.

winter by Local gatherings
WINTER by Local Gatherings is a curated box of essential items to accompany the colder months – a time to slow down and be close to home.We worked closely with each Australian designer of the six objects to create something unique to WINTER and to enhance experiences in our own environment. They are items of for living; tactile, refined and intentionally neutral.
There was a limited edition of 30 boxes available to purchase from May 12-15 2016 at an installation set up by Local Gatherings and located in Prahran, Melbourne.

The Brainery Store was a concept developed in 2012 that focused on bringing forward new ideas in regional areas of Victoria.
Launching in 2013, the events moved from Geelong to Kyneton. The Brainery Store partnered with Dumbo Feather to hold a Backyard Party in Geelong and hosted a seasonal workshop for Kinfolk in Melbourne.
Alongside the lectures, we also set up a pop-up magazine store, which held unique and interesting titles or titles that were hard to find in regional areas at the time.
